Madrone Massage Policy Statement

No Show: Clients who do not show without cancelling are still responsible for full payment. If payment is not received within 24 hours of the scheduled session, the client will not be allowed to return for future massages.

Cancellation: If you wish to cancel your appointment, please do so more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. Other than unforeseen illness, cancelling within 24 hours of appointment will result in 50% of the session rate. Please give me as much notice as you can.

Tipping: It is customary to tip massage therapists 15-20%. This is 100% optional.

Privacy: Your massage therapy records are kept in the strictest confidence by this clinic. All client records are kept in a secure location and are not shown to anyone. Your records will not be released to third parties, including health care providers and insurance companies without your written consent. Records may be surrendered if required by law.

Sexual Harassment: Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Suggestive comments, sexual innuendos, touching of the massage therapist in an inappropriate way, will result in the termination of the massage session and the client will not be allowed to return for future massages. The full fee will be expected.

Covid: I am fully vaccinated and can wear a mask upon client request. I request that unvaccinated clients do the same. If you are fully vaccinated, please do what you are most comfortable with. As an extra precaution, I open studio windows for at least 30 minutes between clients. I always disinfect surfaces such as massage equipment and doorknobs.

Scope of Practice: I am a licensed professional by the state of Pennsylvania and am held to the highest standards of the American Massage Therapy Association. Massage Therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client. LMT's do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. I may refer you to a medical doctor for diagnosis or treatment. My services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention for specific conditions. Please refer to a medical doctor for any specific condition which requires medical treatment.

Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries: I am happy to adjust pressure, temperature, musical volume, work longer on an area or move on if you request it.The client may choose to: leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, stop massage at any time. The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. The clients will be kept informed of the area to be massaged.

Confidentiality and Conversation: I treat all client visits and conditions as confidential. You may choose to talk not talk during the massage. Conversation will be guided by the client’s direction.

Existing and New Medical Conditions: It is the responsibility of the client to keep the massage therapist informed of any medical treatment currently being taken, and to provide written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that the massage may be continued. The client must also keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health conditions. For clients undergoing chemo and radiation therapies – Please note that we require a doctor’s note that states the doctor is aware of and agrees to the desired treatment.
